Change Start Term

You may change your admission to a future term up until the deadline for the application term for which you plan to enroll. Admitted undergraduate and postbaccalaureate students may update to a new start term that is within the three terms immediately preceding or following the initial term for which they applied until the deadline for the application term for which you plan to enroll. A new application will be required to update your start term outside this timeframe.

Admitted first year students may, alternatively, request a one-time gap year deferral.

International students must obtain a new admission letter, I-20, and related visa documents once the change of term has been approved by PSU.

We will review and respond to your request within two weeks.

Changing your term with admissions does not change financial, housing, enrollment, or other charges you have incurred. It is your responsibility to contact other departments to update your information. Any financial aid awards and scholarships you’ve received may be impacted by changing your term. Contact Financial Aid and Scholarships for more information. You must cancel or change your housing contract separately.

If you have already submitted your tuition deposit, it will be applied to your new admission start term, you will not be required to submit it again.
